I got a bit of bike riding in yesterday

I started yesterday with a nice plan to tackle some indoor cycling and to begin working towards riding 100 miles a day. The plan to stream Zwift , RGT Cycling (Road Grand Tours, and some game play with Overwatch was another part of the plan. Also to get several other things done around our gym and home; much of the plan worked out

Touching Base on Yesterday

The morning started perfectly as planned as after Annika finished her workout on the Peloton bike, I hopped on and knocked out some miles with back to back bike rides. In total on the Peloton bike I rode 30.5 miles and afterward I did a weight training class also.

When I had finished with the Peloton bike rides my plan was to setup my road bike (Icarus) on the Wahoo Kickr Snap and do some indoor cycling on Zwift while streaming it on our Twitch Channel. Then after that I was going to do the same for RGT Cycling (Road Grand Tours), things did get complicated.

When I logged into Zwift several items no longer paired up. It kept saying my Bluetooth wasn’t enabled for the Wahoo Kickr on the Power Sensor however for the controller it had linked my Wahoo Kickr, Zwift was simply being a real pain in the ass like usual. Once I got it all synced up I started to stream on our Twitch Channel, the moment I went live Zwift tweaked out again and I had to do all of the same repairs. Once I finally got it all working together and started riding, I noticed that my microphone wasn’t even working while I was talking the whole time not knowing that no one could hear me, this issue turned out to be a Microsoft New Feature Change that reset all audio settings.

Many annoying things to adjust and reconfigure while trying to get to riding Zwift finally caused me to turn off our Twitch stream and just ride. It took over 2 hours to get everything working with Zwift, 2 hours that I could’ve ridden 30 miles easily that was wasted re-configuring Zwift, they really need to fix their update pushes for Wahoo. By the time I got to 10 miles into Zwift my legs were already getting wore down from all of the wait time.

When my legs started locking up it was time to stop riding, I had only ridden 40 miles when I had planned to ride 100, all due to issues with Zwift again. I didn’t even get to ride on RGT Cycling (Road Grand Tours) which really bummed me out. So since the issue with Zwift wasted my day yesterday, I did not renew my membership with them yet.

The bright side of things from yesterdays indoor cycling is that I did get to do some. 40 miles may have not been what I wanted to reach but it was a nice start to getting back on track and today I plan to push again. Riding 100 miles isn’t an easy task especially on an indoor setup, let alone doing it everyday. Riding a bike 30-50 miles a day 7 days a week will wear a person down quickly, I’m just happy to be starting the progression again.

Adventures of Lilith (our kitten)

Lilith when we first got her, she is still this tiny.

Oh my, Lilith is a monster; haha. This little munchkin is wide open bouncing off of the walls nonstop. Lilith has been very helpful since we lost Marley. She has been constantly playful, very lovable, and she has a knack for just jumping clear crossed the room to attach to show that she wants to play.

Lilith is still doing well, she is doing better being eased from soft food to hard food, we add warm water to the hard food for her to make it more yummy for her; she loves it. She is eating more and more and she is still very tiny.

Over the last few days sleep has been hard for me and yes Lilith is the biggest culprit however she still let’s me know that she woke me to cuddle. Lilith is becoming a loved part of our life and she is really helping us right now in our rough moments.

Awaiting Marley’s Ashes

We’re still getting tons of messages about Marley and we’re very thankful for all of the comments and kind words. Yesterday when I was walking outside to take the trash one of our neighbors asked me if I were okay and if they could do anything for me. Another neighbor pulled me aside to chat so they could show they cared about us; everyone has been really good to us in this time and we’re thankful.

Over the next few days we will get a call to tell us to come and get Marley’s ashes, I’m certain this will be a very rough point in our lives. All we can think about right now is all of the fun times that we had with her. This morning Annika and I sat down for our cup of coffee before getting the morning going and discussed things we miss about her. Marley used to pounce on us to wake us in the mornings to say “let’s go outside”. When she had to go out to poop she would simply get our attention and then rub her butt on the floor as if she were saying, “want me to right a message here?”. She was a wonderful companion and she will be forever missed.

Our Twitch Stream

Yesterday I did get to stream for a few minutes on Zwift until I found out that the audio wasn’t working. After I finished riding my bike on Zwift I did get to do a little bit of PC Gaming as I streamed some Overwatch Game Play.

Today I may attempt to do some streaming on out Twitch Channel with some Zwift, RGT Cycling and Overwatch, all depending on how much of a pain in the butt Zwift is; fingers crossed.

Today’s Plan

So today my plan is to continue trying to get back to 100 miles a day. Yesterday was only 40 miles, today I should do at least 50 with a goal of 100 and each day I plan to progress till I reach the 100 mile mark.

I’ve got quite a few things to do today though also my daily goal is to build my legs back to what they were capable of doing before I damaged the muscles from riding too much, fingers crossed.
