The day started out with some sore muscles and our normal routine after a good nights sleep. Our household slept like a rock including the munchkins; it’s like we all had hit the limit and needed the rest all at once. We woke to have our coffee while we started our morning with the article here on our website followed by running out and about to do some errands.
It was a Costco day in which is a day where we stock our cabinets. We picked up some awesome cinnamon buns and some fruit for the snack with our dinner while grabbing our normal items. When we came back home we had decided that it would be a relaxing day for us to recoup from the weekend. When we returned to get things put away we spent some time with Pugsley and Lilith and once they took a nap Annika and I started playing some Overwatch together. The gameplay was not so fun as Overwatch was infested with cheaters so we stopped not too long after we started, they totally got to get rid of a lot of those players.
We decided that we’d use our grill and call it a cookout day so Annika texted our neighbors to see if anyone wanted to eat with us. When the dinner was done it was movie time and chill with the munchkins. We made it through two movies in which I will go over below in the Entertainment section. I can say one was completely horrible and one was very entertaining and fun. After the movies, we headed to bed as it got late really quick and we all slept very good for a change. Before going to sleep I enjoyed watching videos of Marley when she was with us.
The Adventure’s of Pugsley and Lilith
Pugsley slept up against my legs and for the first time, he slept all night without waking me every 2 hours to go outside. When he woke this morning he was cheerful and ready to play. We raided Lilith’s crate in which she slept in for the first time in a while to get her up so they could play. So far this morning those two have been going nuts enjoying their toys together.
We still hadn’t been able to focus on setting up the cabinet and shadow box for Marley. With her gone it is like a part of us is no longer there and we know that it will never be. Marley was a large part of our happiness and to date she still is. We see Marley in both of the newly added to our family munchkins. We learned so much with Marley about better ways to take care of our animals that we had no idea before Marley. We watch everything our munchkins are doing and we will never neglect a moment with them. I ponder the times when Marley was with us and we’d be working so much at our desk and Marley would rest right below our feet and wait for us to stop every little bit so that we could give her a hug or tell her we loved her. Our long hours of work were way too many to not be hugging her. I know that we never neglected her, however, I really wish we’d had her around a lot longer. Let’s move on to the next area now.
Cycling, Hiking, Running, and Fitness
We’re not doing much working out today, we’re debating gettin gon Peloton today or just starting tomorrow as we usually do to start our work week. We are however working on another project, not just any project, we’re going to plan our next big adventure vacation. Now this vacation will require us to put away a good chunk of funds and to buy some gear as we’re planning to ride our bikes for 2 weeks from Scottsdale where we live to Flagstaff and back. That’s just the basics of the vacation, we’re gonna bikepack the trip from our home to Cottonwood to enjoy some of the city and it’s highlighted and then we will go to Jerome. While in Jerome we will explore the area by bike and take in the sights while climbing some huge hills to get to Sedona. We will spend some time in each of these cities and then bike our way to Flagstaff to do some snowboarding. After a nice snowboarding adventure and maybe some hiking in each of those places, we will return home to Scottsdale with some epic traveling miles on our legs.
We do have a time frame in mind for this epic vacation which is a little ways away. We’re going to buy a special bike and trailer for the bike to make this trip; quite possibly we may take Pugsley with us. More on this as the days get closer.
Entertainment and Out on the town
As for the movies I had mentioned above. Annika wanted me to watch the latest Halloween (2018) movie with her. I have always passed on this movie since I knew the story very well between all of the releases, it was hard to consider watching the new Halloween (2018) knowing that it stepped outside of the story on so many spots. We decided to watch it and I can say that it was the death of the franchise to say it lightly. 2/10 Star rating or 1/5 Stars! They did so horribly as they stepped off the script so many times making parts in the movie impossible if it were a continuance from parts 1 and 2. The acting was very bad, the script was the worst and they could keep their time frame together. For an example when the whole state was looking for Michael Myers and they knew where he was going, not one police car went to the house, in fact, no one went to the house but Laura, her daughter and her husband, her granddaughter, and of course Mike Myers; not bad for a huge manhunt. This film was a shit show of epic proportions, and I really couldn’t get past the fact that Blumhouse ripped off Rob Zombie with at least 3 scenes and the attempt to nap film effects. Not a film in which I’d recommend to anyone, especially if you’ve followed the story at all. In short, Halloween 2018 sucks!
Now after watching a very shitty Halloween movie, we did enjoy Alita: Battle Angel (2019).
Now for starters, I’m not a big fan at all of Westley Snipes (Blade); sad to say he was still trying to portray his whole Blade persona in this film as well; “can he act at all?”. I’ve been hyped up and excited about Alita: Battle Angel as we’re fans of anime and sci-fi, also James Cameron’s work. This film has some excellent graphics and yes some cheesy scripting in some spots however with everything going on in the story it’s hard to put it all crammed into such a short amount of time. This film was very entertaining and was worth the time we spent watching it. 9/10 Stars or 4/5 Stars! The cast was perfect for their roles and everyone did a wonderful job.
Today’s Adventure and/or Plan
So for today, we have a few things to take care of and more errands to run to prepare for our work week which starts in the morning. We’re getting our Mini Cooper’s oil changed, setting up Lilith’s new top entry litter box, and running a few more errands. We are also working more on Pugsley’s leash training. Maybe spend some time playing Overwatch later followed by a movie, some pizza, and a nice pillow.
Tomorrow we will start up our working out and cycling for the week.
You Know the Drill
Alright, gang, You know the drill. Time for coffee and to get the day started, we can’t thank you all enough for the support and we look forward to bringing you another day in our nutty life tomorrow. Have an epic adventure day. Also a special note, we’ve updated some of the information below and even added to it.
Like what we’re doing?
We post an article daily to share the daily adventure of life itself within our family and household. Some times it’s about cycling, hiking, more outdoor adventures and other times it’s the adventures within our life itself that have nothing to do with being outside. We post a few videos a month to our YouTube Channel and we keep in good communication with our supporters.
We don’t allow advertisements on our websites or videos on YouTube and we don’t plan to. We know that this is how websites make money however we don’t like to go to a website that is over cluttered with ads and we don’t want it to be the way our website looks either. If you like what we’re doing and want to support there are many ways to do so. You can simply be a follower and continue to keep up with our adventures, you can become a Patreon supporter, or become a Ko-Fi supporter. Just being someone who keeps up with what we’re doing is awesome and we’re very appreciative of the time you spend here with our family. Thanks for the support!
“You’ve reached the end of today’s story”
We like to keep in mind daily that not only are we always focusing on riding our bikes long distance but also that many people we know or even do not know are out on the roads and trails traveling. So if you’re out on the road driving a car please be extra cautious and watch for cyclists who may be on the road with you day or night.
We are working on a project called #AZBIKEANDHIKE. Currently, we have a Strava Club set up for #AZBIKENHIKE‘s Cycling and Hiking. We’re working on the website as we plan it to be a community for the people in Arizona that love to ride bikes and hike. Our goal is to also share great places to get gear, trails to ride or hike, and just awesome fun places to enjoy the outdoors in Arizona. More details to come as this project progresses, we can say at this time that this site will not rely or have profiles on any social media such as Twitter, Facebook, or other.
Below is a list of friends around the world that share their adventures on their blogs, we thoroughly enjoy keeping up with them and hope you will too.
