Wow, so to start off, I’d like to say that I’m sorry this post is so late going up today. WordPress.com is having an issue with both the new editor and the block editor which glitches and crashes when trying to add an image to the story. I’ve spent the last hour talking with them and they are working on this however I’m certain that they won’t tell you it is going on. Below is a video capture of the support tech at WordPress.com duplicating the issue to see the problem does exist.
So now that I have to bounce between editors to get this article up let’s get er done.
A few things to point out
Since 2012 we have been on Twitch gaming and live streaming fun stuff and over the years we’ve slowly stepped further away from it. That place is a very toxic environment and out of the years on Twitch we’ve only found a small handful of good people, less than 10. When we made Affiliate at Twitch we figured, “heck why not keep going?”; well we learned something else. Several people supported the channel from a few pennies in Bits to a couple Subscribers and what that did was put money towards our channel in which about 90% chance we will never see. We’ve been reaching out to support there at Twitch for years and we’ve only had 4 replies all were a year to 2 years later after contacting them. I finally spoke to Amazon the other day about it and they were shocked to know how support was treating us and the ending result of this is, “WE ARE DONE WITH TWITCH!”. I contacted Twitch via their support contact form to tell them to turn off our Affiliate status that we want nothing to do with it. I’m certain that Twitch will keep the monies earned over the years as it says on their Reddit by others that Twitch calls it a maintenance fee. So we will not ever be streaming on Twitch again, we can say we lost a lot of time and money on that platform and almost nothing good came from being a part of it. We’re not allowed to delete our account and if we deactivate it then they can keep our profile to make it look like we’re there and we have no control over it. Twitch has lost hundreds of millions of users and is infested with fake accounts to add fake views to Partnered and Employees Channels to make it look happening. Several of our friends that are employees there went from 10-25 views to 400-1k viewers with no chat happening overnight.
In short, we will not be streaming at all anymore. We already have our hands full with awesome fun stuff so there isn’t really a need either. We release a few videos a month and a daily article here while working on more and more adventures to share; that’s plenty. When we were streaming we did so due to the people who asked us to come back, not one of those people attended any of the 100+ streams that took place when we did.
Now let’s Recap Yesterday
Yesterday we got a lot done. It was a “tend to work and house” day followed by working with Pugsley on his training. Annika got her workout in on Peloton and I was aiming to do so afterward however I ended up working on my road bike (Icarus). I was finishing with computer work when I got a notification that my buddies blog posted a new article so I headed over to check it out. His article was about the saddle issue I’ve been having with my Specialized Power Arc. I read his article and followed the information he gave. I tried and tried everything all to end up with the same problem. Finally, I called Specialized and asked them what it was I was doing wrong, they told me the same thing I’ve been saying to others. “That saddle isn’t a saddle for my ride type nor for long hours in the saddle”. The number of hours that I’m on a bike required a different saddle then add the ride type and the outcome is the saddle must be a thinner and longer design. He told me that the Power Arc is a comfort saddle for the day to day cycling and not for long distance. He said I needed either their Toupe’ or the Romin which oddly is designed exactly like my road bikes original saddle that has never given me any problems.
So the end result is that I should’ve never bought the Specialized Saddle as it wasn’t needed. The saddle isn’t the right one for me and the one I already owned was already perfect, so I put the original back on and all is good; I can’t wait to get back on the road.
Now that my road bike had its original saddle on it, I’ve got a bit of tweaking to do to it mechanically such as chain, cassette, and derailer cleaning. On top of bike adjustments that I need to take care of, the summer heat has made my feet and hands crack very badly. I’ve been soaking them in water with lotion along with wrapping them in Aquafor for several hours at a time; it’s painful and sucks. So for the next few days, I will be tweaking my bike and getting my skin repaired for the weekend. Saturday I will go for a 30-50 mile ride and then Sunday is “Century Sundays“. I am looking forward to that 100-mile ride on Sunday and I hope that Pugsley lets me sleep Saturday night. Speaking of Pugsley let’s get to the munchkins section.
The Adventure’s of Pugsley and Lilith
Pugsley’s training is going very well as he loves to give high-fives every time you tell him “Good Boy”. He is 99% potty trained, he has had one accident in the house because we didn’t see him standing by the door while we were making dinner. Lilith is doing well, she is still very petite and has grown an interest in trying to eat Pugsley’s food. We’re working with them each day with their teething as they both have a mouth full of baby teeth and they are sharp. They are both trying to chew on anything they can so this has brought some interesting moments. The next round of shots for both of them is in about 2 weeks, we cannot wait till Pugsley can start training classes.
Cycling, Hiking, Running, and Fitness
Annika was able to get a Peloton workout in yesterday and today, I hope to get in a little bit of riding on it today, however, I do have a bit to get done on top of resting my legs for the up and coming weekend rides. After the weekend I am aiming to try and do some running a few times here and there depending on the heat as it has been really warm lately.
Entertainment and Out on the town
We attempted to kick back and watch a movie last night but both of us were way too tired. The munchkins are wearing us out by keeping us up all night and day. Tonight, however, is July 4th so we’re gonna have a small cookout for just Annika and me and enjoy some fireworks. That’s plenty of entertainment for one night since we really badly need some sleep.
I may try to play a little bit of Overwatch later however with my migraines lately I may just rest when I can.
Today’s Adventure and/or Plan
Today’s plan has sort of been shared throughout this post since it is a holiday we’re just gonna enjoy it together and stay off of the roads as it’s a time for stupid. Holidays such as this are when people get drunk and or drink from place to place while driving and tend to cause tons of problems around the world. Isn’t it funny how the things that do the most harm to humanity are legal?
You Know the Drill
Alright, gang, You know the drill. Time for coffee and to get the day started, we can’t thank you all enough for the support and we look forward to bringing you another day in our nutty life tomorrow. Have an epic adventure day. Also a special note, we’ve updated some of the information below and even added to it.
“You’ve reached the end of today’s story”
We like to keep in mind daily that not only are we always focusing on riding our bikes long distance but also that many people we know or even do not know are out on the roads and trails traveling. So if you’re out on the road driving a car please be extra cautious and watch for cyclists who may be on the road with you day or night.
We are working on a project called #AZBIKEANDHIKE. Currently, we have a Strava Club set up for #AZBIKENHIKE‘s Cycling and Hiking. We’re working on the website as we plan it to be a community for the people in Arizona that love to ride bikes and hike. Our goal is to also share great places to get gear, trails to ride or hike, and just awesome fun places to enjoy the outdoors in Arizona. More details to come as this project progresses, we can say at this time that this site will not rely or have profiles on any social media such as Twitter, Facebook, or other.
