By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be out on the road riding my bike with my friend Jeff. It’s Cycling Saturdays! Today Jeff and I are linking up to go for a 60-mile bike ride to visit Litchfield Park and back. We were gonna go for a ride yesterday however Pugsley kept me awake all night teething and crying, so I stayed in to rest and tend to him. I’m looking forward to this bike ride and to visit a new area that I’ve not been to yet.
Now let’s Recap Yesterday
Yesterday was a day to attempt getting some rest from the night before however, it didn’t go as planned. I did get a few hours of sleep though when Lilith got up she woke Pugsley and me every time we would close our eyes. She would pounce on us and here and there she would just attack Pugsley waking us both. The last few weeks have been very sleepless to say it mildly. The munchkins can’t help it so we can only be there with them till they get through it all, some nights are easier to sleep and others are constant crying from Pugsley; he is a wimp lol.
In between resting when and if I could, I tended to all the normal daily things while working with Pugsley and Lilith on their daily training and playing. A bit of webwork got taken care of and Annika and I chilled out for the day after we both got done and enjoyed some TV Time and dinner together.
The Adventure’s of Pugsley and Lilith
Every day is an adventure with these two munchkins. Lilith with her wild hyper side that rarely slows down and Pugsley with his rambunxious clumsy happy self. These two have some real epic personalities. Both of them are teething, Lilith she doesn’t even acknowledge it at all, and Pugsley if you touch him when he doesn’t want to be touched he will scream like he fell off a mountain. Pugsley is our drama-king! He takes everything to the extreme. When Lilith and Pugsley are wrestling, he will bite her tail, nip at her constantly; she will then spin around him and be on top; before she even bites him he starts howling like he is being murdered haha. We have to check them both and watch them full time when they are playing cause of all of the noises Pugsley makes you can never tell if they are even in the same room together or killing each other; lol it’s very comical.
Cycling, Hiking, Running, and Fitness
On to the fitness, Annika has been working on her Peloton stuff and I have been resting and stretching for today and tomorrows bike ride. If I would’ve ridden yesterday too then the weekend would have been a 200+ mile weekend. I am planning to start running soon the only thing stopping everything I want to do now is Pugsley and Lilith. Between the two keeping me awake at all hours, and if I try to walk out of the door they start screaming like they are being slaughtered; it’s extremely stressful. I cannot function when stressed at all.
Entertainment and Out on the town
Entertainment wise, Annika and I are watching Season 3 of Stranger Things.
This is a fun show, so far the recapping was nice and episodes 1 and 2 are pretty well done; much better than Season 1 for sure.
We’ve started several movies over the last few days however we’ve been so exhausted that it was really hard to get through them before being too tired to enjoy.
Today’s Adventure and/or Plan
Today during my adventure bike ride with Jeff I am hoping to get some good photos and maybe a bit of video for our YouTube Channel. If we get near a place I may pick up a postcard, if not Annika and I are planning to ride to Litchfield Park soon too so we can do it then. After the ride, I plan to come home and chill with Annika and the munchkins and rest before Century Sunday where I will ride and reach 100 miles.
You Know the Drill
Alright, gang, You know the drill. Already had my coffee and I’m out the door by 3am, we can’t thank you all enough for the support and we look forward to bringing you another day in our nutty life tomorrow. Have an epic adventure day. Also a special note, we’ve updated some of the information below and even added to it.
“You’ve reached the end of today’s story”
We like to keep in mind daily that not only are we always focusing on riding our bikes long distance but also that many people we know or even do not know are out on the roads and trails traveling. So if you’re out on the road driving a car please be extra cautious and watch for cyclists who may be on the road with you day or night.
We are working on a project called #AZBIKEANDHIKE. Currently, we have a Strava Club set up for #AZBIKENHIKE‘s Cycling and Hiking. We’re working on the website as we plan it to be a community for the people in Arizona that love to ride bikes and hike. Our goal is to also share great places to get gear, trails to ride or hike, and just awesome fun places to enjoy the outdoors in Arizona. More details to come as this project progresses, we can say at this time that this site will not rely or have profiles on any social media such as Twitter, Facebook, or other.
