Pugsley woke me an hour and a half early, however, the pressure on my head had chilled out a bit. Just saying that reminds me of a t.A.T.u. + Rammstein remix “Half an Hour Without You”.
Health Update and Recapping yesterday
Stranger Things have happened within my life though I can’t understand the migraines and how it has just come from nowhere and all of a sudden stopped. The MRI and MRA revealed nothing but a little sinus pressure. This only leaves the shoulder injury which has daily felt worse and worse that for some reason isn’t as sore right now; “maybe a pinched nerve?”.
Maybe my body needed a fair night’s sleep? Maybe yesterday the stress level dropped enough that my muscles eased up enough to finally relax enough to sleep better? No matter, the upside is the migraine has eased enough that I can focus much better and I do feel like the worst of it is gone. Now all I need to do is get the lower back pain gone and I should be able to start back up working out and hopefully soon riding my bike again.
Yesterday was at first very stressful however it eased up as well very quickly. It’s as if the migraines were causing me to be more stressed and that maybe it was pushing on an area in my brain which made things feel worse than they were, or it simply pushed on the “everything sucks button”. A couple of hours of being awake yesterday and it’s like a breath of fresh air was given and everything seemed to mellow a bit.
Several hours of playing with our munchkins after getting the normal done around the place, we had a blast playing. I relaxed enough to play some Overwatch without exploding over all of the cheaters in the game, I simply “Let it go”.
That made me think of “Inside Out” which is one of my favorite movies.
Maybe that’s how my brain has been functioning since the migraine? All the little people in my head have just been arguing, haha?
After some game time and time chilling with the munchkins the stress just seemed to go away or mellow a bit and today for some odd reason that insane migraine has left the building.
The Adventure’s of Pugsley and Lilith
Spending time with these two munchkins means a lot to Annika and me, yes it can be very stressful as well since Pugsley and Lilith love to play and of course, Pugsley doesn’t realize that he is 4 times bigger than her and can hurt her easier. The other day Pugsley grabbed Lilith’s tail and took off running with it. This is funny however it is a scary thing too. We know that Pugsley wasn’t trying to hurt Lilith though at the same time that bit of playing can cause a real injury for Lilith. Now what’s funny about this is Lilith has tried to do that very thing to Pugsley. I watched Lilith sneak up on Pugsley when he was drinking water. She ran up fast and bit down on his tail, she immediately tried to run with it as she flopped back onto her back still clamped down on the tail realizing he was way too heavy for her. You’d have to see it as describing it just doesn’t express it well.
So yes it can be stressful while at the same time it is an amazing adventure to enjoy with those two. Lilith is a very loveable cuddling kitten, she can go from sleeping to tearing apart the walls in a matter of seconds. She is still very petite though double the size when we got her. Pugsley daily has grown and it shows big time. To look back on him when we got him to now it’s a huge difference.
Pugsley gets another shot this weekend and he has a couple more before he is able to go to dog parks or hiking etc. We’re not going to be taking Pugsley out in the heat, we’re gonna wait until the Fall. The heat out here is too hard to handle to simple take him outside to potty so there’s no way we’d take him walking for hours in 115 + degree temperatures. We are excited to start taking him on the trails with us, we’re shopping for his shoes and little backpack soon.
Cycling, Hiking, Running, and Fitness
Now that my head isn’t hurting I hope to be able to at least get on the Peloton bike this weekend, if only for a quick ride. I’d like to try it today however I’m not gonna push it yet as my lower back and shoulder are still a bit touchy. Maybe today will be filled with some nice stretching and some indoor exercises with dumbells?
I miss riding my bike big time, we do know that from here on out that summer we will not be riding or hiking at all unless we’re in another cooler state. For example, we are going to be heading out of town in August to do some hiking, more on this below. Indoor workouts and indoor cycling will be the maximum when it comes to cycling during the summer months here in Arizona. We have been swimming each weekend which has been awesome.
Annika has been able to get a bit of Peloton stuff in here and there however her work schedule has been pretty demanding lately.
Entertainment and Out on the town
In Gaming – The last few days Annika and I have been playing Overwatch when we could in an attempt to earn enough coin to get the skins for the Summer Games. In playing Overwatch lately it’s been much more fun than it has been in the past. We’re playing more Arcade, QuickPlay, and Competitive whereas we used to only play against bots. Playing against bots we only had to worry about people in our own team cheating, in QuickPlay, Competitive and Arcade, about 2/3’s of both teams are using cheats. We’ve learned to simple block and report those players that are caught cheating in-game versus wasting time stressing out over it. I’d say we report and catch 5-20 players per day if we play more than 2 hours.
Reaper in this match (video above) was cheating. It took 4-6 full powered headshots several times per round and only one time did it kill him. When he was called out for cheating he then was much easier to kill.
We’ve been having a blast as we’ve gotten better at other toons that we’ve not really played much before now.
In Movies – Of course, the other day we watched the new Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) movie and yes “it was EPIC!”, since then we hadn’t had time to watch many movies. There are many movies that we’re waiting to check out when we have the time, the time has just not been on our side lately. We’ve been able to catch a few episodes of TV Shows we like in between bein gable to somewhat get a few hours of sleep each night. I’d say right now the main movie we’re waiting to get to see is “The Secret Life of Pets 2“.
In Television – Pugsley and I have TV time together in between work and doing our household things since cycling has been a bit slow for me. We have enjoyed shows like “Ozark”, “Lucifer”, and now we’re checking out “Jessica Jones“. We don’t really have an opinion of the show yet since the last attempt when it first came out I instantly turned it off after 1 episode. This time around the show isn’t that bad, I’m hopeful as I can use a good show to enjoy while we wait for the nex seasons of Ozark, Lucifer, and a few others.
In Travel – In January 2019, Annika and I had plans to visit several places and accomplish a good bit of fun traveling on our Anniversary. Sad to say our son ruined it and most of this year by taking advantage of us and eating through a ton of our savings before he took off again, this wasn’t the first time. Annika and I didn’t even get to celebrate our Anniversary at all. Given how badly this year has been, travel or even making our big purchases have been on a minimal scale. Thankfully, Annika and I have some vacation time coming up. We’re gonna head up to Cottonwood, Sedona, and maybe Jerome just for fun. I believe we’re doing this in August. By the way, we will never have a guest stay with us ever again, especially our son; unless it’s my best friend KWOLF.
Today I’m going to continue relaxing my muscles and make it a chill day. A little stretching for the muscles, some time to chill with Pugsley and Lilith, and maybe some TV time later after some Overwatch gaming.
I’ve finished my round of antibiotics and now am only taking my daily meds to help me breathe and slowly my food. Hopefully today I won’t have to take anything else and the pain will continue to go away, fingers crossed.
At the moment, I’m making some waffles, enjoying a cup of coffee with my awesome wife, and preparing to get things done around here before some epic Overwatch adventure.
You Know the Drill
Alright, gang, You know the drill. coffee and waffle time. Have an epic adventure day. Also a special note, we’ve updated some of the information below and even added to it.
“You’ve reached the end of today’s story”
We like to keep in mind daily that not only are we always focusing on riding our bikes long distance but also that many people we know or even do not know are out on the roads and trails traveling. So if you’re out on the road driving a car please be extra cautious and watch for cyclists who may be on the road with you day or night.
We are working on a project called #AZBIKEANDHIKE. Currently, we have a Strava Club set up for #AZBIKENHIKE‘s Cycling and Hiking. We’ve decided to merge this project and it’s website into our website since both are about hiking, and riding bikes in Arizona. Now you can see an item in our navigation menu to see more information. More to come as we get to that point.
