Today is project day

We’ve got tons of projects in the works and this year has really worn us down and kept us from getting some of them going. Now I’m dealing with constant migraines which sadly have still remained an issue and now the soreness in muscles has escalated.

Recap a bit of yesterday

Yesterday started off waking feeling fully refreshed, I was so happy that it seemed that all of the water intake had calmed the migraines. I wasn’t sore, I felt wonderful for almost all of the day. Annika came home and we started dinner, as dinner was being prepped the migraine started up. I hadn’t had a headache all day and then out of the blue here one came. We had our dinner and started to sit down to play some Overwatch together on our PC’s and within minutes my shoulder muscles started hurting followed by my arms going numb as if I was having those stroke feelings again. The pain got really bad and is still pretty hardcore, we almost rushed me to the hospital until Annika came to my desk to see what she could find. Annika found knots throughout all of my shoulders. It felt like someone stuck a stake through one should all the way to the other one. She started massaging my shoulders and neck and the more she worked on it the more knots she found. She and I could hear them popping one by one like a bubble wrap as she kept trying to push the knots out with Tiger Balm ointment. We are running out of ideas while we wait on the doctors to give us some answers, so far they hadn’t come up with anything other than one test after another test wracking up their pockets.

Finally, we decided to get some rest and then Pugsley continued to wake me all night to go out every 20-30 minutes. He loves to make sure the lawn guys dop a good job as he goes behind them bitting off the taller pieces they miss here and there. Sleep was minimal as I was finally wide awake after 2 hours of sleep, so I stayed awake and am planning to do so till bedtime tonight.

The Morning is upon us

Pugsley has been outside 12 times since he woke me fully at 9pm, it’s currently 11:53pm and my alarm clock will go off at 12:30am to get today started. I’ve already started trying to work out my muscles a bit with a little light stretching. The knows are now in my leg muscles too, it’s as if I’m deteriorating daily. I’m so tired of whatever is trying to tear my body down and wished it would stop. June 12th, 2019 is when this all started and since then it has been a struggle to physically move around each day let alone try and ride my bike. It’s time to kick these health issues ass.

Time to stop letting this pain stop me

Today I declare it Project Day! Yes, I’m in pain but enough is enough. My plan is to go down some of my lists of things I have been wanting to get down around our home and try to knock some of them out.

After Annika heads out to work, I plan to get work down and then start on a project on my list until it is done. So many things I’ve been having to pass up due to muscle pains and migraines. I’ll start with the gym. Some organizing, wash a few bikes, and during the day also try and squeeze in some Yoga with some stretching exercises. Maybe I can even get in a Peloton bike ride or two; fingers crossed. Most importantly I want to get something done today that these pains have been stopping me from doing and each day I plan to do more and more.

I missed when Annika and I would go hike 5-8 miles after a 40-mile bike ride. I really miss riding my bike every day, things have got to get back to normal. So Project day it is. In fact, to kick off this project day, I’ve been cleaning our house during writing this post and I’m nearly done; at least the basics anyway.

Moving Forward

During writing this article I’ve had a nice oatmeal breakfast and am soon to enjoy some coffee with Annika. Pugsley has been waiting patiently for Lilith to wake to come and play with him, and I’ve gotten a fairly good plan in order for today. Now I know that organizing may not be a thing that others need to make their lives easier, I do; so today the plan is organizing. When things are where they need to be it makes my brain slow down and relax so it makes for a more relaxing time to ride bikes. Speaking of bikes, Annika and I are going to do a short ride together depending on the weather this weekend. She is going to keep an eye on me since the last attempt I almost collapsed within a short amount of time. I hope to be able to get things stable quickly so that I can train for my cross Arizona bike ride in October.

Lilith and Pugsley are now Up and Playing

These two munchkins are inseparable. The moment Pugsley is awake and hears Lilith’s little bell, he paces by the door waiting for her to come out and play. Today, or shall I say last night, Lilith started meowing at the door at 9:30pm last night; it’s why Pugsley woke me. They are doing well and as you can see Pugsley is growing fast.

What else is happening today?

Annika and I do plan to do a bit of pc gaming to get a few loot boxes for the week this afternoon. We play Pokemon Go throughout the day on our phones with friends. I may stream a little bit on our Twitch Channel, depending on what projects get done today. I am going to try and fix the trainer tire and maybe do a test ride on Zwift or RGT Cycling (Road Grand Tours).

Time for Coffee

Alright, gang, You know the drill. Coffee, water and waffle time. Have an epic adventure day. Also a special note, we’ve updated some of the information below and even added to it.

“You’ve reached the end of today’s story”

Important Mentions:

We like to keep in mind daily that not only are we always focusing on riding our bikes long distance but also that many people we know or even do not know are out on the roads and trails traveling. So if you’re out on the road driving a car please be extra cautious and watch for cyclists who may be on the road with you day or night.

#AZBIKENHIKE

We are working on a project called #AZBIKEANDHIKE. Currently, we have a Strava Club set up for #AZBIKENHIKE‘s Cycling and Hiking. We’ve decided to merge this project and it’s website into our website since both are about hiking, and riding bikes in Arizona. Now you can see an item in our navigation menu to see more information. More to come as we get to that point.
