So we got the Garmin BarkLimiter 2VT and to be honest, it sucks!

The other day we mentioned that we had ordered the Garmin Barklimiter 2VT and said that so far we didn’t see it doing what it says. We also said we’d give it a few days and get back to everyone on this product which we paid for. The Garmin Barklimiter 2VT is not a shock collar, or as they word it; “a safe stimulator”. The version we bought only gives vibration and a super quiet beep sound. We’re not about to put a shock collar on any animal even if the marketing words say it so mildly.

Garmin Barklimiter 2VT

We read the reviews and debated over and over if we should buy the Barklimiter 2VT or not and finally gave in to give it a try, besides what’s $89.00 if it helps. Whelp, what we got for our $89.00 was something to count the barks that our dog does and post them to an app while it also made our dog bark 100% more than he has ever done. Now our dog won’t stop barking! To be very blunt and realistic the Garmin Barklimiter 2VT is a complete piece of shit that does nothing. The super quiet beep that happens when your dog barks or sleeps cannot be heard unless you’re right beside of it and super quiet. The vibration doesn’t do anything at all. So $89.00 to teach our dog to bark more is what happen. The reviews out on the net are legit, this product beeps and vibrates even when you’re dog is asleep. We’re 100% sending this hunk of shit back to Garmin. As for their App the Garmin Canine, it’s like a child built it. It is so low tech and glitchy. This is probably the worse product that we’ve run across in a decade. Don’t waste your money, now we need to start teaching our dog to bark less, what a joke.

  1. That’s what you get when you substitute a vibrating collar for a what should be a shock. I know you don’t like them, but I’d guess you’ve never been chased by a 130 pound doberman. When that sucker stops that big sucker in its tracks, you can’t help but be thankful.

  2. We’ve thought about the shock collar as Zane goes OFF at the rabbits on the other side of the fence! He’s got a loud bark, but luckily our neighbours are far enough away. Won’t be buying this Garmin product!
